GETTING STARTED

What is Makewrk?
Makewrk is a referral-reward tool for local service businesses. A worker invites an advocate, funds a reward, and gives that advocate a personal link. New unique contacts can count toward the link's goal.
Who is it for?
It is designed for plumbers, electricians, cleaners, handymen, landscapers, and other service businesses that already grow through customer recommendations.
How do I get access?
Signup is self-service. Verify your mobile number, set up your worker card, and create an advocate link. A link becomes public only after its reward is funded.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Workers and advocates use mobile-friendly web pages. Prospects use their normal text or phone app after opening a referral link.

HOW CONTACTS COUNT

What counts toward a goal?
A new unique person must contact the worker through a Makewrk flow, be attributed to the advocate link, and pass eligibility and fraud checks. A page open or tap by itself does not count. The generated text includes a referral code for a deterministic match; codeless texts and calls can require review before counting.
What if the same person contacts me again?
Under the current product rule, the same prospect phone number can count only once for the same worker. Later calls or texts can update activity, but they do not create another qualifying contact.
How quickly does a contact appear?
Delivery is normally prompt, but phone carriers, background processing, provider outages, and fraud review can cause delays. The worker receives the contact on their mobile and can review counted activity in the dashboard.
Can unclear activity be reviewed?
Yes. Ambiguous, suspicious, duplicate, excluded, or low-confidence activity can be held for review rather than counted automatically. Makewrk can correct an attribution error when the available records support it. Browser taps are useful context, but are never enough on their own to create a payable contact.

REWARDS AND REFUNDS

When is the worker charged?
The reward is funded before its link becomes active. Starter also adds the 10% platform fee shown at checkout. Pro removes the Makewrk platform fee while the subscription is eligible and active.
When is a reward earned?
The advocate earns the funded reward after the current link cycle reaches its stated qualifying-contact goal. The goal can be 1-20 contacts and the reward can be $10-$1,000 under current product limits.
What if the goal is not reached?
If the funded cycle remains unearned for 90 days, Makewrk can initiate a refund of the unearned reward to the original payment method. Provider processing can take additional time. See the Reward and Refund Policy.
How does an advocate receive a reward?
When the goal is reached, Makewrk records the reward as owed. A connected advocate can have a provider payout initiated. Otherwise the reward remains owed until payout setup or an approved manual payment. Banking and provider timing still apply.
Does an advocate pay anything?
No. The worker funds the reward and any applicable platform fee. An advocate should never be asked to pay a fee to receive a legitimate Makewrk reward.

STARTER AND PRO

What is included with Starter?
Starter has no monthly charge. It provides worker and advocate cards, progress tracking, and inbound texts through a shared Makewrk number. Each funded reward cycle includes the current Starter platform fee.
What does Pro add?
Pro ($29/mo) removes the Makewrk platform fee while active, adds analytics, and provides a dedicated inbound number for forwarded calls and texts.
Can I reply from the dedicated number?
Makewrk currently forwards inbound activity to the worker's mobile phone. A direct reply is sent from the worker's regular number, can expose that number, and may not be tracked by Makewrk. It is not a two-way message inbox.
Can I cancel Pro?
Yes. Cancellation normally takes effect after the billing period already paid for. Dedicated-number access and Pro analytics can end with the subscription.

FOR ADVOCATES

How does an advocate check progress?
The advocate signs in with their verified phone number and a one-time code. Their dashboard shows current progress and whether a reward is owed, processing, paid, or otherwise unresolved.
Does an advocate need to download anything?
No. The link and reward dashboard are web pages designed for a phone browser.
Does the advocate need payout setup?
Payout setup is needed for automatic provider transfers. Without it, an earned reward remains owed until setup is completed or the worker records an approved manual payment.
Should an advocate disclose the reward?
Yes when applicable law or platform rules require disclosure of a compensated recommendation. Advocates should share truthful personal experiences and avoid spam or misleading claims.
